Reedbed Project Example

Lancashire, England

There was no access to the site, so a culvert was constructed to access the reedbed site, which was removed when the installation works were complete.

To clean the reed bed out, 4R Group was required to gain a permit for this work.

Compilation of technical drawings, risk assessments and site survey to gain rapid regulatory approval for a temporary bridge to open access to isolated mini reedbed system for vital maintenance works.

Works required

-  Site survey

-  Regulator liaison

- Compilation of mapping, risk assessments and operational methodology to safely propose the construction, deconstruction and use of a temporary bridge over a protected waterway.

For the duration of the work, we had to look at installing a filtration system to bypass the reedbed.
